One Wish For Christmas

UNDER THE TREE
MY CHILD SMILE LIGHTS THE TREE
THEY ARE THERE WITH ME.
I WILL KNOW
THEY'RE SAFE WITH HE .
ONE WISH FOR CHRISTMAS
TO HOLD THEM
GOD HAS TWENTY SIX
THEM WITH HIS HOME.
THEY ARE WAITING
TO BE REUNITED
YOU MUST KEEP
FOR YOUR CHILD’S LOSS
WILL BE GREATER.
WHEN YOUR HEART
LOVE IS YOUR HOLD
TO KEEP YOUR
ARE NOT EASY
WHEN YOU REMEMBER
TO FIND THE GOOD ONES
UNTIL ITS TIME TO GO.
IN MEMORY OF THE 26
SHINES IN THE HEAVENS.

i think our prayers this christmas should be for these children and the staff who were so cruelly killed by a madman with a gun and for all their families in their grief also children affected for the rest of their lives with the horror of it all once again gun crime of this magnitude continues and will continue untill guns are illegal
two verses from elizabeth barrett brownings poem came to my mind written for children dying in victorian times it is a relevent plea to these sad times today to make the guns illegal all over the world especially the US only then will our precious children be safe
THE CRY OF THE CHILDREN
do you here the children weeping o my brothers
ere the sorrow comes with years
they are leaning there young heads against their mothers
and they cannot stop their tears
the young lambs are bleating in their meadows
the young birds are chirping in their nests
the young fawns are playing with their shadows
the young flowers are blowing towards the west
but the young chlidren o my brothers
they are weeping bitterly
they are weeping in the playtime of others
in the country of the free
they look up with their pale and sunken faces
and their look is dread to see
for they mind you of their angels in their places
with eyes meant for deity
how long they say how long o cruel nation
will you stand to move the world on a childs heart
stifle down with a mailed heel it's population
and tread onwards to your throne amid the mart
our blood splashes upward o our tyrants
and our purple shows your path
but the childs sob curseth deeper in the silence
than the strong man in his wrath
god bless them all now angels in heaven
