Default Do you mention your pets in your will?

Is it going too far to leave your pet to someone in your will?

While I'm planning on outliving my cat, you never know. There are certain family members who would not take care of him like I do. I don't want him to end up in the wrong hands.

I'd address it if I were you. We addressed our cats, but we didn't name them specifically.

I think that the lawyer who drafted our will suggested a clause about "pets" being cared for.
