Default Coping at this of year

I lost my Dad almost 6 months ago. The pain is less raw these days but I still have moments when I have to cry for him.

Two weeks ago, the day before my birthday I was in despair as I realised this would be the first time I would never hear Dad wish me happy birthday or merry Xmas.

How do others cope at this time of year? I really want Xmas and New Year to be over
