Lightbulb " You Know Your Getting Better When"

You know you're getting better when....

Your memories make you smile instead of break into tears.

When someone else's pain hurts you more than your own.

When you can tell someone else life really DOES go on.

one day you wake up and you don't have to remind yourself to breathe.

you want to find a way to leave your grief in the past.

you find you are actually enjoying living.

you can come home and be content in an empty house.

Just thinking out-loud... Feel free to chime in with your own thoughts on healing and signs your starting to feel better.

I wish you peace

Yet no person is really alone;
those who live no more echo still within our thoughts and words,
and what they did has become woven into what we are.

I wish you peace and a level path on your journey...

hi dave thanks for the thread it's always a good day when we get a message from you as a woman i would like to add a couple more to your list that i can think about

you know you are getting better when you care about how look again you dress smart do your hair and makeup don't go around looking a complete mess and you start to care about your appearance

the housework gets done again you don't leave it all untill another day or another week or month you look around and think i can't live in this mess anymore

you can go to bed at a reasonable time knowing you may sleep instead of either staying up untill daybreak so exhausted you sleep or the alternative lying in bed awake all night in tears
love hazelxx

This made me laugh, Hazel. I always get cleaned up for work, including make-up. But, besides that, yeah, it's kind of embarrassing.

Reminds me of playing Catch Phrase at Thanksgiving and my 22 year-old daughter gives the clue to our team "Mom! You have these! When you don't shave!"

The phrase, as you can probably guess, was "Hairy Legs."

I don't feel like shaving. In my mind, I have no reason to shave. David isn't here to notice, so who cares?

I guess if I ever do decide to shave again, it will be a sign that I'm getting better.
