![]() Unfortunately, you do not get any time off for the death of a friend or someone that is close to you. Sometimes you are closer to a friend than family. I know that is sad to say, but it happens. What happens if you lose a significant other? Do jobs give you time off for that, or would you have to ask for a leave of absence?

![]() I guess it all depends on where you work. There are some work places that are extremely strict on when they give you time off for a funeral or death, others are more relaxed. I guess that you could always lie to get time off for a friend if you desperately needed it.

![]() I think some companies have policies that allow very considerate time off, while others don't.
I know of a case about a year ago where a lady was waiting for her husband's cancer to take his life. I believe that went on for months. I think she had a very understanding company she was working for during her horrible ordeal. |
