![]() My dad was born in Australia in 1935, even though he lived in the UK for most of his life. I would like to start tracing our family tree - does anyone know where I could get a copy of his birth certificate? And how far back do Australian birth and death records go?
Thanks, Charlie |

![]() Hi Charlie, and welcome to the forum.
That's an interesting query - you could try the following sites: http://www.coraweb.com.au/bdmaut.htm http://www.nla.gov.au/collect/genealogy/bdm/ http://www.ulladulla.info/fhc/death.html I think the earliest that death records go back to in Australia is 1788, but it seems to depend on the state in question. Good luck!
